In the Matter of Establishing An

Implementation Plan for the Resolution No. 2004-5

Environmental Protection Policy

Of the Village of River Hills

________________________________________________________________________

WHEREAS, the natural resources of the Village of River Hills, including the air, water, flora and fauna, are a critical component of the character of the Village; and,

WHEREAS, preservation of those assets are critical to the maintenance and enhancement of our community; and,

WHEREAS, it behooves the Village of River Hills to conduct its daily activities in a manner consistent with preserving and enhancing those natural resources; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the Village and its residents for the Village to educate and encourage its residents to similarly preserve and enhance the natural resources of the Village of River Hills, with a goal of making the Village an environmentally aware and healthy community.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Committee on the Environment be directed to develop a plan for implementing the vision outlined above within six (6) months of the date of this resolution and present the plan to the River Hills Village Board for consideration.

PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF RIVER HILLS, this 18^th day of August, 2004.
