Village to Hold a Public Open House to Review its Comprehensive Plan

The Village of River Hills is hosting a Public Open House on Monday, October 5, 2009 between 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Village Hall (7650 N. Pheasant Lane) to obtain input from village residents on the draft comprehensive plan. Earlier this year, the Village of River Hills began developing a comprehensive plan in compliance with state statute, and, when completed, the document will help guide planning in River Hills for the next twenty years.

The Public Open House is the latest step in the comprehensive planning process. As part of the planning process, the village conducted a Community Survey and Municipal Officials Survey, as well as held regular, public meetings with the Plan Commission.

The Village of River Hills is hosting this Public Open House to ensure that the draft comprehensive plan represents the opinions and desires of village residents. To ensure the greatest participation possible, the Public Open House offers a variety of ways in which residents can get involved. For instance, residents can listen to a presentation on the draft comprehensive plan at 4:30 PM. They can review the draft comprehensive plan, and ask Plan Commissioners, staff, and the consultant questions about the draft plan in a one-on-one setting. Residents will also have the opportunity to submit written comments on the draft comprehensive plan, which will be reviewed by the Plan Commission.
